About this Server
Rowsafe is an open-source database administrator and Model Context Protocol (MCP) safety net for AI agents and developers. It supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Redis, and SQLite with automated point-in-time recovery (restore to any second), continuous encrypted backups, weekly restore verification tests, schema introspection, lock/bloat diagnosis, slow query explanations, and automatic restore marks before dangerous migrations.
Direct low-latency RPC protocol communication with structured JSON schemas.
Restricted capability bounds to prevent accidental modifications or leakage.
Security & Best Practices
When to Use (and When Not To)
- •Safety net protection before applying database migrations, schema alterations, or batch destructive updates
- •Point-in-time continuous backups and weekly automatic restore test verification
- •Diagnosing bloat, connection saturation, stuck locks, and transaction wraparound
- •High-dimensional vector embedding similarity searches (use Chroma or Qdrant MCP instead)
- •Document collections and streaming pipelines in MongoDB (use MongoDB MCP instead)
- •Serverless MotherDuck cloud OLAP analytics (use DuckDB / MotherDuck MCP instead)

7 toolsFunctions your AI agent can invoke via this Model Context Protocol server
Calculates a 0-100 database health score covering bloat, locks, stuck sessions, replication, and connection pools.
Creates an immediate named restore point before risky SQL statements, migrations, or deploys.
Restores database state to any specific second or restores missing rows from a point in time with full undo.
Outputs a compact schema summary of tables, columns, foreign keys, and index utilization optimized for LLMs.
Analyzes why a query is slow, diagnoses execution bottlenecks, and suggests optimal index definitions.
Pre-checks migration scripts for table rewrites, exclusive lock risks, and safe production execution.
Applies verified non-destructive fixes such as ending stuck sessions, vacuuming bloat, or dropping unused indexes.
