Docker MCP Gateway
Docker CLI plugin and gateway for managing, isolating, and deploying containerized MCP servers with secrets and profiles.
About this Server
Docker MCP Gateway (`docker-mcp`) is the official Docker CLI plugin and MCP gateway. It provides container-level isolation for running MCP servers from OCI images, Docker catalogs, and the MCP registry, keeping API keys in Docker secrets and letting Claude Code, Cursor, and VS Code access multiple MCP tools through a single managed gateway.
Direct low-latency RPC protocol communication with structured JSON schemas.
Restricted capability bounds to prevent accidental modifications or leakage.
Security & Best Practices
When to Use (and When Not To)
- •Running untrusted or external MCP servers inside sandboxed Docker containers
- •Aggregating multiple MCP servers (GitHub, Slack, Databases) under a single gateway endpoint
- •Standardizing team-wide MCP configurations using portable OCI-backed profiles
- •Web3 RPC multi-chain endpoint comparison (use Chain.Love Gateway instead)
- •Agent rules and markdown steering file linting (use Asitis Agent Tools instead)
- •Bulma CSS React UI components and prop tables (use Bestax MCP instead)
Install & Setup

5 toolsFunctions your AI agent can invoke via this Model Context Protocol server
Starts the MCP gateway server servicing stdio or streaming HTTP transports for configured profiles.
Creates, shows, configures, and connects server profiles containing OCI, catalog, or registry MCP references.
Pulls, creates, inspects, and manages OCI-based MCP server catalogs.
Lists, counts, inspects, and invokes available MCP tools across all running containerized servers.
Safely manages and injects API credentials and OAuth tokens without leaking to environment variables.
