Blender MCP
Connects Blender to Claude AI and coding assistants, letting you create and modify 3D scenes, objects, materials, and textures using natural language prompts.
About this Server
Connects Blender to Claude AI and coding assistants, letting you create and modify 3D scenes, objects, and materials using natural language prompts. AI can execute Python code directly in Blender, inspect scene properties, capture viewport screenshots, download and apply PBR textures from Poly Haven, search and import Sketchfab models, and generate 3D assets using Hyper3D Rodin and Hunyuan3D generative AI integrations.
Direct low-latency RPC protocol communication with structured JSON schemas.
Restricted capability bounds to prevent accidental modifications or leakage.
Security & Best Practices
When to Use (and When Not To)
- •3D artists and technical directors wanting AI-assisted 3D modeling, lighting, and scene staging
- •Developers automating Blender rendering, asset pipelines, and procedural Python scripts
- •Learning 3D modeling, shader nodes, and bpy scripting with interactive AI guidance
- •Rapid prototyping of 3D architectural mockups, game assets, and PBR textured props
- •Headless server environments where Blender is not installed or GUI viewport rendering is unsupported
- •Pure 2D vector or web-only layout designs that do not involve 3D meshes or bpy automation
- •Real-time production game engines without an intermediate export step (FBX, glTF, or OBJ)
